Two Tables, One Hive: Kill Team Comes to Gallowdark

Friday night at the club had a different feel to it. Gone were the usual tables of open ground and scattered ruins, replaced instead by the cramped, claustrophobic corridors of Gallowdark, the perfect setting for a night of Kill Team carnage.

With two tables running side by side, the hall was full of the quiet tension that only narrow corridors and blind corners can bring. Operatives crept through gantries and maintenance shafts, lines of sight snapping open and shut in an instant, every doorway a potential ambush. It is hard to overstate just how much the terrain shaped the games. Gallowdark does not just look the part, it plays the part too, turning every Kill Team match into a tense, close quarters fight for survival.

A huge thank you goes to Lee Burns, who organised and ran the whole event. Pulling together two full tables of Kill Team takes real effort, from prepping the terrain to keeping games moving and making sure everyone had a great night, and Lee delivered on all fronts.

One of the things that made Friday so much fun is something we think more people should know about. Kill Team's Boarding Actions missions, the ones built around Gallowdark style terrain, are genuinely one of the best ways to get your miniatures on the table outside of the usual Crusade campaigns. You do not need a full army, you do not need to have read a narrative supplement cover to cover, you just need a small squad and a willingness to creep down a corridor not knowing what is waiting around the corner. If you have ever felt like your collection only comes out for big multi-hour games, Kill Team is the perfect way to change that.

And that is really the point. If you have got miniatures from pretty much any army, there is a good chance you can already get involved. Kill Team draws from across the entire Warhammer 40,000 range, so whatever you have been painting, the odds are it has a place on a Gallowdark table.

Friday was just the start. We are already looking at putting together something more official off the back of this, so watch this space for more Kill Team coming to the club soon.

Kill Team continues to be one of the most atmospheric games we play at the club, and nights like this show exactly why. If you fancy getting involved, whether you already have a kill team painted up or just want to come along and see what it is about, we would love to have you down.
