The Road to the World Championship Starts Here — King Beyond the Wall 2026 is a Golden Ticket Event

This is not just news for the West Allotment Wildlings. This is news for every competitive Warhammer 40,000 player in the North East of England. King Beyond the Wall 2026 has been awarded a Golden Ticket — meaning the winner of this year's invitational earns a direct invite to compete at the World Championships of Warhammer 2027.

Let that sink in. A tournament circuit that starts right here, in events we run and compete in across the North East, now has a direct pathway to the global stage.

THE ROAD TO THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP STARTS HERE. King Beyond the Wall 2026 is now a GOLDEN TICKET EVENT. The winner of this year's invitational will receive an exclusive invite to compete at the World Championships of Warhammer 2027.

What is King Beyond the Wall?

King Beyond the Wall is the North East's premier end-of-year Warhammer 40,000 invitational. It is run collaboratively by Unity Tournaments, True North, Majority T3, Red October, N24, and the West Allotment Wildlings — bringing together the very best players from across the region in a 32-person closed invitational at the end of each season.

The format is straightforward but the stakes are serious: compete in any qualifying tournament run by the participating clubs throughout the year, accumulate ranking points, and if you finish in the top players at the end of the season, you earn your seat at the table. Every West Allotment at War event we run counts toward the leaderboard — so every time you compete for the Wildlings, you are building your ranking and your shot at King Beyond the Wall.

You can follow the live 2026 rankings at bestcoastpairings.com/rankings/tafmU1mgJYJn and see all participating events at unitytournaments.uk.

What is a Golden Ticket?

The World Championships of Warhammer is Games Workshop's flagship global competitive event, bringing together the best players from dozens of countries across Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar, Kill Team, and Warhammer Underworlds. It is the pinnacle of competitive Warhammer — the point where the whole season builds to.

A Golden Ticket is an exclusive invite awarded to the winner of a specially designated qualifying event anywhere in the world, granting them direct entry into the World Championships. Previous qualifiers have included major events like the London GT and the NOVA Open. King Beyond the Wall 2026 now sits alongside them.

For 2026, the World Championships of Warhammer are being held in Barcelona, Spain, running 3rd to 6th December at Fira de Barcelona — Games Workshop's first European hosted championships, with a bigger venue, more qualification spots, and a genuinely global feel. Whoever wins King Beyond the Wall this December will be heading to Barcelona.

What This Means for the North East Scene

The North East has always punched above its weight in competitive Warhammer. This region has produced strong, technically skilled players and some of the most well-run independent tournament events in the country. The collaborative spirit between Unity Tournaments, True North, Majority T3, Red October, N24, and the Wildlings built something worth recognising — and it has been recognised.

For us at the West Allotment Wildlings, this is genuinely one of the proudest moments in our tournament history. We have been part of the King Beyond the Wall collective from the start, and to see the circuit earn a Golden Ticket is a validation of everything our community has built together.

How We Approach Competitive Warhammer at the Wildlings

With all the excitement around Golden Tickets and world championships, we want to take a moment to talk about what we actually stand for at Wildlings events — because competition and community are not in conflict for us.

Sportsmanship Is Scored, Not Just Hoped For

At every West Allotment Wildlings tournament, sportsmanship is formally scored and recognised. Our Best Sport awards go to players who make every round a good experience for their opponent — regardless of the result, the matchup, or the dice. Competitive Warhammer is at its best when both players leave the table feeling like they had a fair, enjoyable game. That matters to us.

Painted Armies on the Table

Competitive does not mean unpainted. We actively encourage and reward painted armies at our events. The hours spent at the painting desk are as worthy of recognition as the hours spent studying faction rules, and our Best Painted awards celebrate that. If you are competing with the Wildlings, bring a painted army and be proud of it.

Welcoming at Every Level

Whether you are a seasoned GT player hunting ranking points or someone attending their first competitive event, you should leave a Wildlings tournament feeling like you belong in this hobby. We work hard to make sure that is always the case. New players are welcomed and supported, experienced players give their time to help others grow, and the post-game debrief over a drink is treated as part of the event.

Growing the Scene

Our ambition is not just to have a handful of elite players at the top of the regional leaderboard. We want to grow the depth of the North East competitive scene — more players who are comfortable at GTs, more players developing their game through our events, more of the region represented when the big tournaments come around. That takes time, but it is what we are working toward.

What's Coming in 2026

Thank You to Everyone Who Built This

This achievement belongs to the whole King Beyond the Wall collective — Unity Tournaments, True North, Majority T3, Red October, and N24. And it belongs to every player who turned up, competed hard, and kept the North East scene the community it is. The collaborative spirit that built this circuit is exactly what earned it this recognition.

Good luck to everyone chasing that Golden Ticket this season. We will see you across the table.
