Round 2 Dispatches — The Search for Salvation Lost

The trenches ran red this week at West Allotment Wildlings — and we wouldn't have it any other way. Round 2 of our Trench Crusade narrative campaign, The Search for Salvation Lost, is well and truly underway, and the battlefields are getting bloodier by the session.

Tuesday Night — Stephen vs Lee Burns

Tuesday evening kicked things off with your humble campaign organiser facing off against the one and only Lee Burns in what turned out to be a brutal and utterly cinematic game of Trench Crusade. The kind of game where dice feel personal and every casualty stings just a little.

The forces clashed across scarred no-man's land and neither side made it easy. It was the sort of game that makes you love this hobby — tense, narrative, and full of those moments you end up talking about for weeks afterward.

But here's the real talking point from the evening — Lee's warband. If you haven't seen Lee's painted miniatures in person yet, you are genuinely missing out. His work this campaign is stunning: careful attention to detail, a strong visual identity, and the kind of finish that makes the whole game feel like a living piece of art on the tabletop. A massive congratulations to Lee on his painting — it's the sort of work that inspires everyone around it and is exactly what this hobby is all about. Well done, mate!

Friday Night — The Campaign Hots Up

Friday brought more games as the campaign continued to build momentum. More warbands took to the field, more stories were written in blood and barbed wire, and the narrative of The Search for Salvation Lost grew richer with every roll of the dice.

There's something special about a Trench Crusade campaign — the system rewards narrative play and gives every warband a real sense of character and history. Watching those stories develop week by week is one of the best parts of running events like this at WAW.

About the Campaign — The Search for Salvation Lost

For those not yet in the loop, our Trench Crusade narrative campaign is running across multiple rounds here at West Allotment Wildlings. We're exploring the dark, weird, war-soaked world of Trench Crusade — an indie miniature wargame set in an alternate WWI timeline where the forces of Heaven and Hell wage open war across the front lines.

With Round 2 underway, the standings are shifting, warbands are evolving, and the stakes are rising. If you're curious about Trench Crusade or fancy getting involved in a future campaign round, come along to a session and have a chat — we're always happy to welcome new players to the trenches.

What's Next?

The campaign continues — keep an eye on the website and our socials for updates on results, campaign standings, and upcoming game nights. Every round brings new twists and new stories, and we can't wait to see how the narrative of The Search for Salvation Lost unfolds.

If you want to know more or get involved, head to the Events page on the website or drop us a message. We'll see you in the trenches!
