Friday's Finest: The Land Speeder and Keeper of Secrets Steal the Table

Friday nights at the Wildlings always throw up a few showstoppers, but this week two models in particular had everyone crowding round the table before a single dice was rolled. Between the club's new Space Marines contingent and its ever-growing daemon collection, the paint stations have clearly been busy.

The Land Speeder Touches Down

Fresh off the sprue from the new Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon 11th Edition launch box, the Land Speeder is one of the box's headline models — a reworked hunter-killer that folds the old regular, Tornado and Typhoon variants into a single hull, bristling with a multi-melta, an onslaught gatling cannon and a stormfury missile launcher. It's a fitting centrepiece for a Space Marine force, and Pete did it every justice, bringing it in alongside a full collection of Ultramarines painted to match.

Clean canopies, crisp weathering on the undercarriage and a paint scheme that ties the whole squad together — it's the kind of army-wide consistency that takes real patience, and it showed. Great work, Pete.

A Keeper of Secrets Arrives

On the daemonic side of the table, Lee brought out a Keeper of Secrets — one of the largest and most striking miniatures in the whole Warhammer range, and a Greater Daemon of Slaanesh in the lore. Keepers are said to take a different form every time Slaanesh manifests one, towering, horned and unnervingly graceful, feeding on the fear and desire of anything unlucky enough to face them down. It's as much a sculpture as it is a battlefield threat, and it demands a paint job that can carry that presence.

Lee leaned into it — soft, glossy pastel tones across the flesh, contrasted against darker horns and blades, exactly the sort of otherworldly, seductive menace a Keeper is supposed to radiate. It's a big, brave colour choice on a big, brave model, and it paid off.
