The dice have been rolled, the orders given, and the smoke has finally cleared. Last Sunday, the West Allotment Social Club played host to one of the finest days of wargaming the Wildlings have put on — Watch on the Tyne, our Bolt Action tournament that had everything: legendary terrain, fierce competition, and a room full of gloriously painted armies clashing across the tabletop.
The turnout was nothing short of brilliant. Generals from across the region descended on West Allotment, ready to fight it out across the theatres of World War II — and what a battle it was.

Drew's Battlefield: A Terrain Masterclass
Before we get to the honours, a special mention absolutely must go to Drew, whose terrain work transformed the tables into something truly spectacular. From hedgerows to bomb-blasted ruins, every corner of the battlefield looked the part. Drew, you've set the bar very, very high — and we're not complaining one bit.

The Honours Board
After a full day of hard-fought games across Watch on the Tyne, the awards were decided — not just by battlefield performance, but by the spirit and craftsmanship that makes Bolt Action such a great game.
🎖️ First Amongst Equals (General with Most Cumulative Scores) — Stephen
🤝 Favourite Allied General — Jamie
🎖️ Favourite German General — Darren
🎨 Most Thematic Army — Chris
⭐ Favourite Army — Stephen
Huge congratulations to all the award winners. Every game played on the day reflected the kind of sportsmanship and hobby passion that makes the Wildlings community something special. Well done to every single general who took part — winners and runners-up alike.

A Word of Thanks
Events like Watch on the Tyne don't happen in a vacuum, and we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors who helped make the day such a success.
A massive thank you to Warlord Games (store.warlordgames.com) — the publishers of Bolt Action itself and creators of some of the finest 28mm historical miniatures in the hobby. Their support for community events is second to none, and it was wonderful to see so many of their miniatures gracing the tables on the day.
And a huge thank you also to Different Not Less Games (dnlmodels.co.uk) — a fantastic local hobby shop right here in the North East, based out of the Benton Business Centre in Newcastle. If you haven't paid them a visit yet, get yourself down there. They're brilliant people doing brilliant things for the hobby community.

Until Next Time...
Days like Sunday are exactly why we do what we do at West Allotment Wildlings. Whether you're a veteran commander or a fresh-faced recruit, there's always a place for you at our tables. Keep an eye on the events page for what's coming next — and if you played on Sunday, we hope to see you back for the next Watch on the Tyne. The orders will be given again soon.
Steady. Aim. Roll dice.
